From order to bill, at the table

Every table has its own QR card: guests don't type a table number, and waiters don't hunt for the table.

Table QR cards

Add your tables, then download each table's QR card as a PDF and print it. The card opens your menu at that table.

Ordering from the phone

Guests pick dishes, add a size and a note, and send the order. The server checks prices against your menu, and guests follow their order's status on their phone.

Call a waiter, ask for the bill

Guests call a waiter or ask for the bill, saying whether they'll pay cash or card. The call shows on the staff screen with the table and how long it's waited.

A staff screen with sound

New orders ring and flash. Start preparing, Ready, Served; lines are ticked off as they're made, and every step can be undone for 5 seconds.

Table plan

Lay out your room on the table plan, so staff see at a glance which table is waiting and which order is ready.

Kitchen slips and bills

Print each order as a kitchen slip without prices or as a full bill, laid out for 58 and 80 mm receipt printers. The computer at the counter can print new orders automatically.

Table ordering in three steps

All from the Ordering page in QRbox, with nothing to install.

  1. Add your tables

Add your tables and print each table's QR card.

  2. Open the staff screen

Open the staff screen on the kitchen tablet or the counter computer, and pair any other device with a 6-digit code.

  3. Take orders

Send a test order, try the sound and switch table ordering on. Waiter calls have their own switch.

What you need

Table ordering and waiter calls are included in every plan, with no special hardware to buy.

  • A tablet, phone or computer. The staff screen opens in the browser, with no app to install, and keeps the display on while it's open.
  • An internet connection. If it drops, the screen says so, keeps your taps and sends them when it's back.
  • A receipt printer, if you like. For kitchen slips and bills; not required.

Questions

Questions about table ordering

Not answered here? Write to us and we'll help: Contact

Do guests need to download an app?

No. They scan the QR code with their phone's camera and the menu opens in the browser, where they order and call a waiter too. No sign-up either.

Can a guest order for another table?

No. Each table's QR code carries a table code nobody can guess, and the order comes to that table. A menu opened without a table code can't place table orders.

What if an order comes in while no staff screen is open?

It isn't lost: it waits on the screen until someone opens it. While no staff screen is open, your Ordering page warns you. The Call a waiter button only shows while a screen is open, so no call goes unanswered.

How do guests pay?

At the counter or to the waiter, as usual. Add Online payment and they can pay for their order by card. You can also close bills on the staff screen by cash, card or split.

Who issues the receipt or invoice?

Your business does, through your own till or POS device, as for any sale. QRbox doesn't issue receipts or invoices.

Can we stop orders for a while?

Yes. Pause them from the staff screen for 15, 30 or 60 minutes or until you resume, and guests see on the menu that ordering is taking a short break.
